What for?

Overall objective: To promote the reception and full integration of third-country nationals into Portuguese society through direct support, language training and the fostering of a culture of dialogue and intercultural respect

Specific objective:

  • Support and Information: To provide assistance and guidance to immigrants to facilitate their access to essential services and the exercise of their rights and duties as citizens.
  • Language Training: To develop communication skills in Portuguese (spoken and written) through structured courses at levels A1, A2 and B1.
  • Social Awareness: Engage social institutions and the local community in forums for reflection and sharing (seminars, film screenings and exhibitions) to combat prejudice and promote diversity.

Direct beneficiaries: migrants, third-country nationals.

How?

Main Activities:

  • Local Centre for Immigrant Integration Support
  • Portuguese Courses: 75-hour course in ‘Language and Culture’ at levels A1, A2 and B1
  • Intercultural Seminar: A space for dialogue and reflection among different members of society
  • Cultural Activities (Faces of my city): Film cycles, storytelling sessions (“Stories from my homeland”) and a photography exhibition.
