The results exceeded expectations, reaching an 80% satisfaction rate among participants. Students highlighted the attractive design, the spaceship customisation, and the collaborative experience as highlights. The development team also collected detailed feedback on the gaming experience, which will be essential for refining the platform for subsequent sessions, for which registrations are still open via a form.
The test also provided insight into the impact of this pedagogical approach on the chosen theme, reinforcing the project’s mission to use gamification to integrate educational content in an engaging and effective way to address fundamental topics such as Sustainable Development, Interculturality, and Human Rights.
The game is being developed from scratch by Rato – ADCC, with adaptations made based on classroom tests to ensure accessibility and relevance for the target audience. A further 39 test sessions are planned at the Agrupamento de Escolas Patrício Prazeres, involving eight Year 8 and Year 10 classes, between 20 January and 27 February 2025. The project team expects these additional sessions to provide even more robust data for the refinement of the final product.
Cidadania em Jogo: TU decides! is promoted by the Lisbon City Foundation, in partnership with Rato – ADCC, Associação Renovar a Mouraria, and the Agrupamentos de Escolas Patrício Prazeres, Alto do Lumiar, and Alvalade.
